Laser and light treatments for rosacea and facial redness

Professionals at Physicians Laser and Dermatology Institute employ several advanced laser and light treatments to address the vascular redness of rosacea. Reducing the redness of facial veins and capillaries, and flushing and acne rosacea, these technologies help patients and their skin feel more comfortable.

Pulsed dye lasers gently heat redness-producing blood vessels with a bright beam of light that only destroys the targeted tissues and leaves surrounding tissues untouched. Discomfort during treatment sessions is minimal, and appearance improves after a single treatment or a short series.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses high intensity pulses of intense broadband light. IPL is non-ablative: it delivers heat to the dermis and leaves the surface, the epidermis, undamaged. Because it is a low-impact treatment, benefits are seen quickly and recovery time is shorter than with more invasive approaches.

Diode lasers treat the enlarged facial vessels which many people develop over the course of their lives. Different laser systems are selected on an individual basis, depending on the patient’s vessel size and natural skin color.
